A peaceful afternoon walk along the Vlasrotersroute, loop 1, took me back in February 2024 to a place where nature and silence beautifully meet.
The light played hide and seek that day: soft sunbeams alternated with dark clouds, giving the landscape a different atmosphere every few minutes.
The route led me past water, fields and old rows of trees. At times, the water was as smooth as glass, reflecting the sky like a painting; at other moments, it felt as if the clouds could tear open at any moment. This variation made the walk captivating — no view felt the same.
Along the way, I encountered quiet landscapes: deserted fields, wintry trees and places where you pause for a moment without knowing why. Even a brief rain shower could not disturb that peace. On the contrary, the drops added just that little extra atmosphere.
After a few hours, the route slowly led back towards the end. The air became heavier, the clouds darker, but the walk remained beautiful until the last step.
The Vlasrotersroute remains a place where you can clear your head and simply enjoy what comes your way.
