Yesterday, on Friday 1 May, the centre of Tielt was once again buzzing with cycling fever. During theMemorial Stefaan Huyghelier(the INOFEC Championship of Tielt) the racing was at its sharpest. With the start and finish at Café Textielhuis in Ieperstraat, the atmosphere among the spectators was at least as good as the performances on the asphalt.
As a photographer, I was present all afternoon to capture the most beautiful moments. From the endearing, yet extremely passionate youth programme at 1.00 pm, to the recreational ride and the lightning-fast Fun race later in the afternoon: it was a pleasure to see the passion for cycling through the lens.
Below you will find a small recap with 9 of my favourite images from the day, which perfectly summarise the story of the afternoon: from the focus of the youth to the screeching tyres in the corners with the adults.
Are you in the photo too? This is of course just a small preview! I photographed all afternoon and captured more than 100 action shots. Did you ride along or were you cheering from the sidelines?
