Last night, as Jens's father and photographer, I went to the Yeti in Gullegem for the last team building of our Tievolley Men 1.
What a lovely evening it was! Amidst the flying axes and the fluorescent decor of the glow-in-the-dark mini-golf, I saw through my lens mainly lots of smiling faces. Players and parents mingled together and visibly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere.
However, the evening had a special edge for many. For a number of boys and their loyal supporters on the sidelines, this marks the end of the 2025-2026 season, but also the conclusion of a beautiful era. Some are hanging up their knee pads, while others are moving to a new team. The realisation that this close-knit group will no longer be on the field in exactly this composition made the moment extra special.
Fortunately, we still have the images to look back on! To all players and fellow parents: thank you for a fantastic season and the wonderful moments. For those leaving: best of luck with the next step. And for those staying: see you next season in the sports hall!
